UCHRONY AND MULTIVERSE
Ucronia is a genre of fiction that originates from the hypothesis postulated in theoretical physics of the existence of a multiverse, a set of parallel temporal dimensions.
It therefore exploits the opportunities offered by the narrative to imagine timelines characterized by a different space-time continuum than the known one.
The hypothesis is that the history of the world, which is customary to perceive as a single and unidirectional line perfectly coinciding with the temporal one, has bifurcated at certain points, generating multiple lateral ramifications in correspondence with crucial events in the evolution of civilization.
A different outcome of the Second World War, a critical event in the history of the twentieth century, is certainly the favorite plot of this narrative genre.
It is there, in the century of murderous ideas, in the chaotic evolution of the days when the world plunged into the abyss of its deepest delirium, that Ukronic novels, also defined as dystopian, imagine what modern reality would have been like in the event of the victory of the regimes. dictatorial in Western countries, in the event of the prevalence of fascism and Nazism and their feared consolidation in civil society.
And it is precisely from this distant point of the Multiverse, beyond the limits of the known Universe, in an alternative 2011 that sees Italy still in the balance, prisoner in a limbo between the advance of the allies and the permanence of the fascists, mistress of a never more precarious balance, which gives rise to the story of "My way".
