The Loi family

Pietro Loi is the charismatic head of the family. Brilliant young man of modest extraction, talented sportsman and skilled communicator, in a few years he managed to build an entrepreneurial empire in the field of arms manufacturing and with his wife Eleonora conceived ten children. He died at the age of 42 of a tragic accident while testing a new rifle, leaving the rest of the family in absolute despair.

Eleonora Romano is Pietro's wife and mother of the young Loi. She has a background as a rebellious girl and spent a time in the ranks of the partisans, flawlessly fulfilling her role as a relay race. Probably thanks to the intercession of Pietro she managed to erase the shame of her past and start a family by supporting her husband's will to pay fidelity to the regime. The sudden death of Pietro, with whom she is deeply in love, throws her into total despair, making her slip into the tunnel of intense depression.

Marco is the eldest of the children of Eleonora and Pietro. With a taciturn nature and sensitive temperament, endowed with a superb beauty, he is particularly shaken by the premature death of his father because he is the one who is entrusted with the task of replacing him at the helm of the family and of the businesses, especially because of the depressive illness that has struck his father. mother. Marco is only 24 years old and he is not ready to take his father's place, he does not feel up to par. Therefore, in the excessive consumption of alcohol, he will look for a way to defend himself from that sudden explosion of responsibility, but he will find valid support in his younger brother Tommaso.

Tommaso is the second child, a charming young man with brown hair and deep eyes. Despite being only twenty-two, he is already an army officer and destined for a dazzling career. A vigorous and handsome sportsman like his father, a balanced boy with deep values, he is promised to be the husband of a lively and good-looking girl. His sense of protection towards his younger siblings has grown dramatically since Marco, of whom he knows he is the only foothold, took over the family. But something, besides the death of his father, makes him restless and will introduce him into a whirlwind of events which will soon overwhelm him.

Massimo , the third son of Pietro and Eleonora, a soldier like Tommaso, died at the age of only twenty, shortly after Pietro, during an unauthorized military operation, uncontrollably amplifying the pain of his mother and brothers. The account provided to the family about the unfolding of the event that led to the young man's tragic end is not reflected in the shrewd and responsible character of the same, so the older brothers begin to suspect that he was the victim of a conspiracy.

Antonio has the liveliest and most irresponsible character of the family. Very similar in appearance to Tommaso, so much so that he is mistaken for him around the city, he serves like the others in the Royal Army but does not have the same firmness, nor the abilities and at the same time is not suitable for covering other roles in different fields. Often the owner of an inopportune and arrogant smile, he shares his instinct to rebellion with his sister Luisa and together they prove to be an important obstacle to Marco's peaceful management of the family.

Vincenzo is a thoughtful and shrewd boy, who appears more responsible than his nineteen years. With round glasses and shaved hair, he has an out of the ordinary flair. He writes, paints and, despite the censorship, manages to best express his art. Out of his common sense, even though he is aware that he is making a disgrace to Antonio, who is older in age, Marco would like him soon to be at his side in the management of the companies. But for now he too is serving in the army and in the depths of his soul he hides a secret that will upset all balance.

Rosa and Luisa are twins, have long brown hair and toned bodies. Perfectly identical in appearance and equally different in character. Sensitive and insecure Rosa, rebellious and brazen Luisa. Thanks to the intercession of their father, they were both welcomed to the military school, drawing on the scarce places reserved for women. While Luisa, very skilled with weapons, intends to pursue a bright career, Rosa faces military life with great effort but does not hold back in order not to disappoint her family.

Carmine is fifteen and has a thick hair of dark curls.  He still attends school and is very fascinated by the Blacks of the National Voluntary Militia of which he would like to be part, despite the opposition of his father. The sudden death of the latter has brought down all his hesitation to give vent to a dissident and brazen character and to fully embrace the values of fascism.

Teresa is a pretty blonde girl, she is only twelve years old, and she is out of the dynamics that her older brothers are involved in. He is often close to his mother, whose silent pain he tries to soothe, and to his maid Maria, who protects her as if she were her daughter.

Francesco has just turned ten years old. He is a light-skinned child with a lean and toned physique. Curious, intelligent, often anxious about the fate of his brothers. Excessively mature for his age, he loves the sea and deeply suffers the disappearance of his beloved father. The whole story will center around his sudden, distressing demise.
